The nationwide lockdown during Covid-19 Alert Levels 3 and 4 certainly had a big impact on our lives, our business, the way it operates, the interactions we have with our colleagues and valued clients, and its overall fiscal management. However, it has also highlighted a number of positives along with some new tools and ways to undertake our day to day business moving forward.

We asked four of our staff to reflect on the last couple of months and their reflections provide some interesting food for thought moving forward.

On Thursday we eagerly moved into Alert Level 2!

Thank you for your patience and understanding during the lockdown period. Our staff have worked hard to try and make the remote working arrangements as painless as possible and to continue to deliver the high standard of service for the people we interact with.

This extended period of remote working has enabled our staff to adapt and grow their skill-set particularly around communication, and many of our staff have become proficient across a number of different digital platforms, increased time management skills and personal responsibility.

One thing that is consistent at the moment is the constant change. The most recent change to Alert Level 3 is the news we have been waiting for. As we move into Alert Level 3 from Tuesday 28th April 2020 we will be able to operate even more efficiently and productively.

So, from Tuesday 28th April, Stratum will be operating as follows:

There is no doubt we are currently in an uncertain and challenging economic environment at the moment with Covid-19 and our Level 4 status. However, opportunities and silver linings do exist. It is understanding these opportunities and implementing strategies to set yourself up for when the time is right is where you will benefit.

Stratum staff are all working from home and fully functional.

Obviously we can’t carry out site inspections, testing or field surveying, unless you are involved in an essential service industry. If you are involved in these industries, we have staff on standby who are able to carry out site based work for you. Please call should you need assistance.

Covid-19 has spread rapidly around the world and is quite possibly the most serious event to affect our daily lives and our businesses that many of us will experience in our working lives.

The closing of our borders last Saturday started the dominos tumbling – so that now it’s very hard to predict the course of events over the next weeks and months.
