The Project

Wai Ariki Hot Springs and Spa is a world class facility on the Rotorua lakefront.  Stratum provided planning, surveying and civil engineering design services.

Our Approach

Stratum was engaged when the project began in 2015 undertaking a plan change process to re-zone the land from reserve to city centre. We then developed the structure and master planning of the site, and designing earthworks and stormwater solutions.

Working collaboratively for the best possible outcome was key part of this project given the complexities of the lakefront location and geothermal activity. The Stratum team continued throughout the project obtaining the required Territorial, Regional and subdivision consents, along with settlement monitoring, building set out, three waters design, and design of the landform and pavement elements.
