Andrew has been practising as a Civil and Geotechnical Engineer since 1983. His experience includes large scale civil engineering projects in the UK, as well as more than 20 years’ experience within the BOP on a range of land development, residential, commercial and industrial projects. Andrew now specialises in geotechnical investigations and assessments within the BOP region with a particular interest in developing foundation solutions for difficult sites with issues such as soft ground, steep/sloping topography or liquefiable soils.
Stephen has been practising as a Civil and Structural Engineer since 1991. He holds CMEngNZ status in the Civil and Structural engineering fields and is a member of Engineering New Zealand. Stephen has wide experience in subdivision developments, general civil engineering design works, low rise commercial, industrial and residential structural design, IEP assessment, plus project management, construction monitoring and project implementation.
TJ has been practising as a Civil Engineer and Structural Engineer since 2006. He is experienced in the structural design of residential and commercial buildings, civil engineering design, infrastructure, construction, earthworks and erosion, and project management, and a range of geotechnical and liquefaction assessments.
Craig has been practising as a Civil Engineer since 1999 and has a New Zealand Certificate in Civil Engineering (NZCE). He specialises in all aspects of rural, residential and industrial / commercial civil engineering, infrastructure, construction, earthworks and erosion, and is our certified On Site Effluent Treatment (OSET) expert.
Elles has been working as an engineering geologist for local specialist geotechnical consultancies since 2007. Elles has a wide range of geotechnical project experience, specialising in assessing and developing geotechnical solutions for land and building development in the geologically young and varied deposits of the greater Bay of Plenty area. She is a Tauranga City Council accredited Category 1 Geo-professional specialist.
Tony has been practising as a civil engineer since 1992. He is an experienced land development engineer working on earthworks and erosion control, infrastructure design and engineering approvals, contract administration and construction monitoring for rural, residential, industrial and commercial developments. Tony also specialises in identifying existing transport risk issues and provides mitigation measures to reduce the likelihood of incidents and accidents occurring.
Will has been practising as a structural engineer since 2014. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) degree from the University of Auckland. His structural experience includes working on a range of residential and industrial sized projects.
Mathew has been practising as a Geotechnical Engineer since 2011. His geotechnical experience includes a range of residential, commercial, subdivision and roading projects in Christchurch and NSW, Australia. He undertakes geotechnical, slope stability and liquefaction assessments for residential and commercial sites throughout Bay of Plenty.
Daniel has been practising as a Structural Engineer since 2015 and holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons). He is a graduate member of Engineering New Zealand (MEngNZ). Daniel works on a variety of structural engineering projects such as building and foundation design for residential and commercial structures and has experience in earthquake damage assessment for residential properties.
Cameron has been practising as a Structural Engineer since joining Stratum Consultants in early 2017. He holds a BE (hons) from the University of Canterbury and is an Emerging Professional member of Engineering New Zealand. Cameron works on a variety of residential and commercial structural engineering projects.
Eric has been practicing as a geotechnical and civil engineer since 2003. He has a wide range of experience from residential development and mega transportation projects across China and New Zealand. Eric specialises in the design of foundations, retaining structures, ground improvement and seismic assessment. Eric is also experienced in civil design including earthworks, drainage systems and geometric design of roads.
Conor has been the engineering assistant at Stratum since 2014. He undertakes the field testing primarily for the geotechnical engineering team, along with providing assistance to the survey field teams. Conor is currently studying as a civil engineer.
Jared has been working as a geologist for Stratum since 2015. He applies his geotechnical knowledge from University in his field testing for the geotechnical team, along with preparation of field reports. Jared plans to advance his studies and become a Geotechnical Engineer, through Auckland University, in the next few years.
Thomas has been working as a geotechnical technician for Stratum since March 2018. He uses his learned knowledge from his studies in geology to carry out field work and write reports. Thomas plans to gain on the job experience in his field before furthering his studies at university.
Neil is a Level IV Certified Designer and CAD Technician who worked with several prominent Engineering Consultancies in the Bay of Plenty before becoming the CAD Training Manager and Technical Writer for the New Zealand School of Welding, a division of Aspire2.
His responsibilities now with Stratum Consultants include producing the Conceptual, Structural and Architectural 3D modelling of current and future projects.
Brett has been practising as a professional planner since 2001. He is experienced in all RMA statutory and regulatory planning, with specialist skills in commercial / residential resource consents and plan changes, along with the provision of planning advice to commercial developers.
Shae has been practising as a professional planner since 2005. He is experienced in all Subdivision, Land Use resource consent and Regional consenting matters, along with providing Resource Management Act RMA planning expertise across the rural, residential and commercial sectors.
Karla has been practising as a professional planner since 2001. She is experienced in the preparation and management of RMA Resource Consent and Subdivision consents, Assessment of Effects on the Environment, as well as regularly processing resource consents for local authorities.
Alison has been practising as a professional planner since 2001. She is experienced in RMA statutory and policy planning, including the preparation and review of District and Regional Plans, and the consenting of infrastructure projects, as well as general subdivision and land use consent projects.
Nadia has been practising as a professional planner since 2015. She is experienced in the preparation of Subdivision and Land Use resource consents, primarily in the rural sector, as well as processing resource consents for local authorities.
Jared has been practising as a professional planner since 2015. He is experienced in the preparation of Subdivision and Land Use resource consent applications to both Local and Regional Councils, provides Resource Management Act RMA planning advice for land development projects, and processing resource consent applications for Local and Regional Councils.
Alan has been practicing in the environmental field across New Zealand and Australia since 2006 and is a Suitably Qualified Environmental Practitioner (SQEP). The majority of Alan’s experience is in contaminated land and groundwater, and he is highly experienced in NES and regional council consenting, along with contaminated land management and remediation.
John is a Registered Professional Surveyor and has been practising as a surveyor and land development consultant since 1980. He is highly experienced in all aspects of rural, residential, commercial and industrial subdivision, and land development in the wider Western Bay of Plenty area.
Bart is a Registered Professional Surveyor and has been practising as a surveyor and land development consultant since 1991. He is experienced in all aspects of rural, residential, and commercial / industrial subdivision, land development and survey in the wider Rotorua area.
Fred is a Registered Professional Surveyor and has been practising as a surveyor since 1993. He is experienced in all aspects of rural and residential subdivision, Maori Land surveys, and Maori Land Court processes in the wider Eastern Bay of Plenty area.
Danny is a Graduate Surveyor who has been practising as a Surveyor since 2015. He has quickly gained hands-on experience in field and land transfer surveying, both rural and urban, and is developing good skills and relationships. He has a good rapport will fellow staff and clients, and enjoys his role in the range of land development projects he is involved with.
James is a Graduate Surveyor who has been practising with us as a Surveyor since January 2017. He is gaining valuable hands-on experience in field and land transfer surveying, both rural and urban, and is developing good skills and relationships. He is new to the Bay of Plenty area and is enjoying meeting new people and experiencing the local lifestyle, in addition to developing his role at work in a variety of projects.
Kane has been the surveying assistant at Stratum since 2010. Kane helps undertake the field surveying with the land surveyors including undertaking certain survey field tasks by himself. He also provides assistance to the field teams including equipment/vehicle management and maintenance, survey supply orders and general communications with clients and our suppliers.

Matt has been the CAD Draughtsperson at Stratum since 2014 and was previously surveying assistant since 2010. Matt undertakes the CAD Draughting primarily for the planning/surveying teams, along with providing assistance with the company IT.
